Philosophy and Aesthetic Theory C: The Cultural Politics of Emotion (by Sara Ahmed). A reading seminar The seminar centres on Sara Ahmed’s seminal book *The Cultural Politics of Emotion*, which serves as both an introduction to social philosophy and the theory of emotions. In the seminar we will closely read and discuss Ahmed’s book but also, depending on the interests of the participants, excerpts of other theories of emotions that figure prominently in Ahmed’s book (like e.g. Descartes, Spinoza, L. Berlant, J. Butler, B. Massumi, to name just a few.) Apart from discussing Ahmed’s text and its emotionality we will also debate and experiment with reading techniques.
